As part of the Rethymnon Percussion Festival, the Municipality of Rethymno will offer cultural and educational activities free of charge, thus enabling a wider audience to get in touch and get to know better the exceptional and uplifting music of the percussionists. These activities include: “Percussion B [eat] s” Gastronomy, Live Concerts & Performances, Educational Actions, a Photography Exhibition and a Documentary Projection.
A multicultural music festival representing music from the four continents (America – Asia – Africa – Europe), could not miss the Bazaar, which has its roots in the Bazaar as the Persians called it and which later prevailed as a “bazaar” Hellenizing the Turkish word Pazar, a “market” organized as part of a local celebration or festival. The Bazaar is a set of events and will feature performances by Sea Clown Sailing Circus, Bucket Boy (Matthew Pretty), O Bombo, Lia Koutelieri, and live sets by DJs Hipcut and Mackenzie with a wide range of music choices while at the same time and throughout, parallel events such as art exhibitions and percussion will take place.
Music, performance and visual arts in the rhythm of percussion will flood Mikrasiaton Square free of charge on July the 20th & 21st! Bucket Boy from USA, one of the headliners in concerts of Percussion Festivals, the percussion ensemble o Bombo from Rethymnon which will set us on fire through Brazilian rhythms, the Sea Clown Sailing Circus, an international New Circus Group that dances, sings , plays music, performs acrobatics and juggling and the artist, Lia Koutelieri with an art- in- progress project that will be created in front of the public in Mikrasiaton Square and find its place in Fortezza during the Percussion Festival.

The art exhibition of ART WAY entitled “Ode to Blue” is inaugurated in the context of the events of Mikrasiaton Square. The exhibition presents the works of artists: Vikis Nomikou, Giannis Kamini and Nancy Kefalinou. The exhibition is curated by Nena Demitriadou – The Silk Road.
The field of education possesses a very special place in this festival. The goals of the Festival educational programs are: to inspire children to get to know the art of music, especially that one of the percussion, to deepen the music student’s or even professional musicians’ individual training and eventually to contribute to the general artistic interaction that can emerge through such an educational process.
There will be Photographic Exhibition and Projection which will be open to the public from the 20th to the 24th of July.
